Are You Ready for the Biggest Bout in Raleigh Ev-er?!
Carolina Rollergirls vs. Texas Rollergirls
Saturday, September 15, 2007
Be proud Carolina! After placing 3rd at the East Regionals tournament, your Carolina Rollergirls All-Stars are headed to nationals! Hosted by the Texas Rollergirls and declared the ‘Texas Shootout,’ the 8 best teams in the country will set their wheels a'blazin' September 29 & 30 in Austin, TX. Visit the Texas Shootout site for complete details. We're already hearing from NC fans who have bought tickets — we'd love to see all of you getting down 'n derby in Austin!
Fortunately, fans who can't make it to Austin will be able to witness some of the best derby in the country much closer to home. Before we head to Texas, we have to kick Tex-Ass right here in Raleigh! That's right, the Texas Rollergirls' Texecutioners — our founding mothers of flat-track roller derby — are rolling into town on September 15 with hopes of terminating our perfect home record. But that's not a streak we're looking to part with anytime soon — we're ready to give them a little taste of what we've been cooking up for nationals! Don't miss our biggest home game yet!
The first 50 students with a valid college ID will be admitted free!
Tickets are on sale now at CarolinaRollergirls.com or at the Skate Ranch of Raleigh, Percolator, Schoolkids Records in Raleigh, and 305 South Anti-Mall of Durham. Or you can try and catch up with your favorite rollergirl; she'll have tickets for sale as well!

East Regionals Recap
The Heartland Havoc, held August 17-21 in Columbus, OH, proved to be aptly named as the weekend unfolded to be series of huge upsets, leaving only the Carolina Rollergirls retaining their top-4 position. CRG defeated Providence Roller Derby (Providence, RI) 98-55 on Saturday, but lost in the semi-finals to the Windy City Rollers (Chicago, IL) 55-104. In our final bout of the weekend, which determined 3rd place, CRG beat the Detroit Derby Girls 94-84. The Carolina Rollergirls (3rd) will join the other top 4 placing teams in the East Region, (1st) Gotham Girls Roller Derby (NYC), (2nd) Windy City Rollers (Chicago) and the (4th) Detroit Derby Girls, at nationals.
Many thanks to the wonderful folks who made the trip to Ohio for regionals! Your cheers got us through a grueling weekend!
