We're facing the Sin City Rollergirls from Las Vegas, a team that knocked our skates off at the Tucson Dust Devil Tournament. They were tough hitters and had creative strategies that made us want another round! Interleague season is upon us - come yell, kick & scream for your hometown girls so we can shake up that arena! There will be track-side seating so be sure to bring your CRG seat cushion or get one at the bout! Tickets are on sale now through eTix, available at Schoolkids Raleigh, Percolator Lounge, Skate Ranch, and by chasin' down a Rollergirl.

To help us rock the Arena, we booked one of Raleigh's favorite hard rock bands, PIVOT - because when we looked up Pivot in the Roller Derby Dictionary it said, "the one you can count on to kick the most butt!"

And the Winner is..
Many thanks to the Berkeley Cafe and all our diehard fans who came out to celebrate our 2006 season. And thanks to those who voted in our People's Choice Award poll; there were nearly 400 responses! Now the winners: for "Best Derby Name" fans chose Trudy Struction, for "Best Dressed" (though it should be LEAST DRESSED) fans chose Penelope Bruz, and for the 3rd season in a row, "Roxy Rockett" was chosen as Crowd Favorite. Check out the complete list of award winners as determined by stats and Rollergirl polls!
Bumberbout Results...
Carolina Rollergirls line up against Rat City in Key Arena, Seattle, WA, on September 2, 2006. On September 2nd, the Carolina Rollergirls participated in the 2006 Bumberbout Flat-Track Derby Invitational, earning their invite by finishing in the top eight at last February's Dust Devil tournament. Held in conjunction with Seattle's annual Bumbershoot arts and music festival, this tournament's teams showed all have taken Flat-Track derby to a new level of play. The mighty mamas of Flat-Track Derby, the Texas Rollergirls, barely squeezed a championship win over Seattle's Rat City Rollergirls 74-69. Carolina played back-to-back qualifying mini-bouts against Rat City and Minnesota, losing both, but didn't leave without a victory. Your WFTDA eighth-ranked Carolina Rollergirls took on ninth-ranked Bay Area Derby Girls and won the 20-minute matchup 30-24. The Carolina Rollergirls gained valuable experience and new strategies to take on the team's visiting us in Dorton this fall, none of whom participated in the tournament. We'll just have to serve them a slice of our experience!
