Previous reports of ROXY ROCKETT developing a jet fuel bearing oil in the Trauma Queen laboratories were bogus! It was just a stealth TAI CHI-TAH attempt to start a cat fight! Raaarrrw! Chi-tahs like their meat slightly shredded, with a side of rice noodles, and were hoping for a drag-out brawl!

Turns out they didn't even need their super-ninja powers to get these old rivals into a pre-bout blitzkrieg. Seems Brawler coach DR. FEELGOOD was at work in the ER next door & overheard The Trauma's TRUDY STRUCTION & FAYE TALLITY talkin about Brawler captain KITTY CROWBAR's split ends. When KITTY found out she almost cussed exclaiming, "Why I do declare! Those Queens might just get a tire iron to the shins!"

"NO!" Said EVA LYE, with that left eye twitch, "Leave it for the rink...I got a plan...and I ain't aimin' on doin' no queens no good..."

THIS SUNDAY, July 23, the Trauma Queens and the Debutante Brawlers will be rolling with the fisticuffs to get one skate closer to the August 20 CHAMPIONSHIP!

Making Flat Track Derby History

The Carolina Rollergirls made history in Austin, TX on July 2nd, becoming the first league to defeat a Texas Rollergirls’ home team, the Hell Marys. The bout was intense with Carolina getting off to a rough start, being held scoreless in the first three jams with the Hell Marys scoring 10 points. Carolina quickly recovered and tied it up, 17-17, after the 8th jam.

Quickly warming up to the Texas team's playing style, CRG's defense rose, holding the Hell Marys scoreless in the last five jams of the first period, with 20 unanswered points, the last of which was a Carolina 7-0 jam from Teflon Donna facing the Hell Marys’ all star jammer Bloody Mary, leaving Carolina with a commanding 45-21 lead at half time. The Hell Marys came back with a vengence in the 2nd half, but Carolina wasn't going to let them take control and brought the house down with a 74-57 victory.

Destination Seattle

On September 2nd, the Carolina Rollergirls will head across the country to participate in the 2006 Bumberbout Flat-Track Derby Invitational! Earning their invite by finishing in the top eight at February's Dust Devil tournament, CRG will compete with seven other top leagues in the nation in a one-day tournament held in conjunction with Seattle's annual Bumbershoot arts and music festival. In addition to the host league, the Rat City Rollergirls, other competing leagues include the Texas Rollergirls (current national champions), the Minnesota Rollergirls, the Kansas City Roller Warriors, the Mad Rollin' Dolls, the Bay Area Derby Girls and the Boston Derby Dames.
