Still Brushing Off the Dust

2006 Dust Devil Travel TeamBy now you must have heard how well your local rollergirls represented at the first-ever national women's flat-track competition? The Dust Devil Invitational was held February
24-26 in Tucson, AZ.

During the seeding round, we beat 3 out of 4 teams, including leagues from Las Vegas (42-25), Houston (26-5) and Dallas
(46-9). Our only loss was by 3 points...to the Minnesota Rollergirls! Yes, it was heart-breaking!

Ranked 8th after day one, we faced and beat the 9th place ladies from the B.ay A.rea D.erby Girls (107-77). Our win was invigorating, but our path to the first place trophy was not an easy one. Next we faced the Texas Rollergirls, the FIRST flat-track derby league in the nation. We played an amazing game and earned the respect and love of our derby sisters from across the country, but ultimately the girls in Texas ended our tournament journey and ultimately went on to claim their rightful 2006 tourney championship.

Special thanks to the wonderful fans and skaters who traveled across the country to lose their voices cheering us on! We're excited for our fans to witness this amazing inter-league play as several oif the great leagues we met from around the country come to Raleigh this season! Stay tuned for information about our upcoming inter-league bouts at Dorton Arena!
