The Carolina Rollergirls Serve Up Their Latest Fresh Meat, Prepare for Start of 2013 Season
If you’ve felt like something has been missing from your life for the past couple of months, it was probably the absence of the Carolina Rollergirls. But, chin up! We’re back and getting ready for an exciting 2013 season. In fact, after recently having tryouts, we’ll soon be hitting the track with some new faces.
“We just welcomed 6 skaters into our Fresh Meat class,” says Mora Manipulator, Training Director of CRG. “We can’t wait to start turning them into Carolina Rollergirls. And this season we hope to really boost our numbers by bringing in hopefuls throughout the season.”
That’s right. If you think roller derby might be your calling, now’s your chance to give it a try. This season we’ll be opening our Thursday night practice sessions to CRG hopefuls. If you’re interested in playing roller derby, we strongly encourage you to come out from 8:30 p.m. – 10:30 p.m. every Thursday night at Jelly Beans at 10701 Common Oaks Drive in Raleigh and see if it’s right for you. The cost is $10 per practice or $25 for an entire month.
“It provides a great opportunity to come test out your skills, and through rolling tryouts eventually become a Carolina Rollergirl,” says Mora Manipulator. “With our returning skaters and our Fresh Meat class, we’re already off to an exciting start. Everyone is ready to work hard and make 2013-2014 an amazing season.”
If all this derby talk has you itching to check out the hard-hitting fun of women’s flat track roller derby, here’s some good news: The 2013 season is about to begin!
We kick off our season Saturday, February 23 at Dorton Arena on the North Carolina State Fairgrounds. If you don’t want to miss a single second of the action, join the Carolina Rollergirls Red, Black & Bruised Crew by becoming a season ticket holder. Buy your season tickets now at eTix!
