AIDS Walk & Ride this Saturday

Posted on: Apr 28, 2010

Team CRG is raising money for a cause!

Carolina Rollergirls may be tough, but we care about our community too!  This Saturday, May 1st, some of our do-gooder skaters will be participating in the AIDS WALK+RIDE beginning at the Halifax Mall in downtown Raleigh. The AIDS WALK+RIDE offers a 1 or 3 mile walk, in addition to a 30, 60, or 101.5 mile bike ride.  The Alliance of AIDS Services is hosting this event in the hopes of raising awareness of HIV/AIDS and the community services available to this population, including financial assistance, housing, counseling, and community education.

Beginning at 7:30 am, rookie skater Slick N Twisted will be taking on the 60 mile bike route.  Then, at 4 pm skaters MC Fyte, Silly Rabid, Kama Suture, and Princess America will be putting those rockin skater legs to good use in the walk. Come out to support us and/or get in on the action and register as a participant! To donate visit Team CRG’s AIDS WALK+RIDE page.

From 12-4 pm stop by our Carolina Rollergirls tent for schedules, tickets, and info or just to chat!  Then, stick around after the walk for the closing celebration which includes live music. And as we say in mouth guard land “Peath out!”
