Teams You've Played For: Carolina All-Stars, Carolina Bootleggers, Trauma Queens, subbed for Ring City and fresh meat with Suburbia Roller Derby.

Favorite Location: Anywhere my team is.

How did you find derby?: My boyfriend brought up the idea. We used to live in Brooklyn, right around the corner from Five Stride Skate Shop and Gotham was just starting up their rec league not too far from home. It seemed doable to at least try it out and after one session I was hooked.

Sports Background: I grew up on a lake in Washington, swimming as much as possible. Organized sports as a kid were softball, basketball and soccer. As an adult I played a little soccer, then lots of running until my knees protested, then lots of biking.

Best Fresh Meat Moment: Learning to stop was a highlight! Really I just hadn't realized how much I missed team sport. Derby is fun and is an excellent work out, but when you add the camaraderie, strategy and hard work, it is much, much, more.

Likes: David A., my incredibly supportive and way too far away family, friends, cats, practice, riding my bike, beer, whiskey, good food (especially as prepared by DBA), ice cream, organizing stuff, cleaning, reading, going places, and trying new things.

Dislikes: Litterers and mean people.

Derby Heroes: Thrashley, Justin and Ariel Assault - skilled coaches I’m privileged to have learned from.

Name Inspiration: My parents gave it to me. I've used this name for all sorts of adventures and didn't want this one to be any different. Or perhaps I’m just boring. I’m OK with that too.
