Teams You've Played For: I am a freshmeat skater for CRG. I am currently a Bootlegger waiting to make her first roster.

Favorite Location: Dorton

Favorite Surface: Concrete

How did you find derby?: I was introduced to Derby by my partner, E. It was supposed to be our first date. Even though the original plans fell through we later watched a double header bout between the CRG home teams. We sat as close as we could on the floor at the Skate Ranch. This was in 2009. We would then go to at least 1-2 bouts per season. I have to admit the game was rather confusing to me as just a spectator. My only skating experience was a few skate parties as a child and I did own a pair of the metal skates that would adjust to a tennis shoe (did I just date myself?). I originally put the idea of becoming involved as a skater out of my mind because in November of 2010 I decided to donate one of my kidneys to a person in need. Contact sports are generally discouraged for someone with just one kidney. However, I did some research and found a company that would make me a specialize shirt and pad called Evoshield. I did this because I went Ballerz Derby Skate School classes taught by Balista Blockheart, (my partner encouraged me) and caught the derby bug very quickly. I love sports of all types, derby has quickly become my favorite. I am forever changed. I wanted to play contact sports as a child but during the time of my childhood and being from the south, that was not particularly encouraged. So here I am now, in my 40s, playing one of the best contact sports in the world, at least in my opinion.

Sports Background: I have played softball seriously since middle school. Other sports I have been involved in during high school include: swimming, soccer and down hill skiing.

Best Fresh Meat Moment: Placing that perfectly timed first big hit and honestly I am still having my fresh meat moments.

Favorite Derby Memory: waiting to be written :)

Likes: Anything that gets my adrenaline going. I also value times with friends and family no matter what the activity. I highly value mutual respect and treating others how I would want to be treated. I try to live my life by those two creeds.

Dislikes: I dislike that I am my worst critic and try to stay as positive with myself as I try to be with others. This is a daily battle though and no one is perfect. I don't like it when people are discriminated against, no matter what the reason. Everyone has value!

Derby Heroes: I am still deciding about my derby heroes. There are too many skaters to count who I am in awe of when it comes to their derby abilities. I would have to say Shenita Stretcher is one of my favorites though.

Name Inspiration: I am a Harry Potter fan and who doesn't love a little mischief? The marauder's map spell is my inspiration. So when I am able to pull off a big hit or become lead jammer mischief will have been managed .

If you could have any super power, what would it be? My power would be instant healing power like wolverine. I also wouldn't mind being immortal so I could play derby a long, long time. Both of these would come in super handy.
