Skate: I heart my Antik AR-1's with Avenger plates. Still playing with my wheels ;)

Cross Training: Running, gym, chasing my dogs. Building fences with the Coalition to Unchain Dogs. Flipping tires at APC is always fun!

Debut: Carolina Bootleggers vs. Gate City Roller Girls Oct. 2012

Joined CRG: July 2012

Teams You've Played For: Carolina Bootleggers, Trauma Queens

Favorite Location: To practice - Wheels in Durham / to play - Dorton?

Favorite Surface: Non-sticky wood floor.

How did you find derby?: My first bout as a spectator was a charity bout for the SPCA (I worked there at the time) and I was hooked! I never missed a home bout after that. Once I changed jobs and had more free time I knew I had to try out. I have never, ever, ever looked back!

Sports Background: I was a hardcore ice figure skater when I was growing up. I did individual skating and synchronized skating for 19 years. I also played soccer, rugby, swimteam and lacrosse for fun. Oh, and in high school I was on the sled team!

Best Fresh Meat Moment: I've had more than a few awesome fresh meat moments, and I feel like they are still coming. I can’t believe that I am still in my first year of derby; this has been a crazy, whirlwind experience, and I can’t wait to see where it takes me! · The first thing that stands out even before try-outs was Jesse King teaching me the secret to hockey stops and finally being able to nail those suckers! · Then passing try-outs and level ones – I think I committed Roxy Rockett’s emails to memory. · My first scrimmage with the big girls, and Daisy Rage giving me Facebook props afterward. “that was some fine derby today :),” she said. · My first game, in my mom’s home town. She even got a shirt made to say Momma Badger! · Endless hours of practice after practice with Hot Mess. On skates, watching footage, trail running, talking strategy with chips and silverware – it never ended! · Meeting some incredible women and people, pushing myself further than I thought I could go. Learning that I am smart, strong, and amazing!

Favorite Derby Memory: Traveling with the team and meeting players from other teams is my overall favorite. I wasn't even on the roster for the 2012 bout at Appalachian, but I went to the game and the after-party and had a blast (I think there may be some video footage of that somewhere)! Going to Atlanta to watch Nationals was another fantastic trip. I can't wait to see where 2013 brings us!

Likes: Animals - pit bulls in particular. Restaurants with multiple vegetarian options. Horror movies and musicals.

Dislikes: Stinky wrists after wearing wristguards. Mean people. Bad drivers.

Derby Heroes: DVS, Jesse King, Hot Mess Express. L'exi Cuter (Minnesota Rollergirls) Sandrine Rangeon (Denver Roller Dolls)

Name Inspiration: Well, the first two names I thought of (before I actually made the team) were taken, so then I started toying with things that were based off of my real name. However, I have been surprised at the number of people that don't know what a Claymore mine is - Google it people; right now!

Food Before a Bout: Veggie burger, tater tots with ranch dressing, and Diet Dr. Pepper.

If you could have any super power, what would it be? I love the feeling of wind in my face, so I guess I would want to be able to fly. That is probably why I like to skate and drive a little too fast ;)
