Teams You've Played For: Emerald Coast Roller Derby, Milton FL and Rogue Rollergirls, Fayetteville NC

Favorite Location: Crown Arena, Fayetteville, NC

Favorite Surface: Concrete

How did you find derby?: I was a figure skated as a child and moved in to playing hockey as a teen, I evolved into a coach and hung it all up when tore my ACL, soon after I became a mom so the return to skating didn't happen as quickly as I had planned. At the time I lived in Florida and the closest ice rink was over an hour away, so I looked into roller derby. I didn't immediately fall in love, but was impressed with how well I took to the sport. After my first season in 2014 I set higher goals and have been rolling with it ever since.

Sports Background: Soccer, figure skating, hockey, and break dancing.

Best Fresh Meat Moment: Unfortunately I wasn't ever freshmeat, well I was never considered it because of my skating skill. This was hard for me because I didn't bond with my "freshmeat class" and I wasn't really "part of the team" but in time it worked out.

Favorite Derby Memory: When I played for Rogue, Magikly D’Vicious of the Greenville Derby Dames was jamming against Rogue. In one jam she put her hand up to her ear while skating by Misther and in the following jam I jammed against her I mocked her and did the same thing... without intent the crowd went CRAZY and then as I skated by my bench my whole team was doing the "DIESEL" arm pose. My longest running team mate, Deanne T. Krist, was the team mate I remember most in this moment, I think she even stood up! Soon after I return to my bench to high five her. We won that bout, it was D and I's last bout with Rogue. It was a pretty awesome bout.

Likes: I LOVE MY SON and CHOCOLATE MILK. There's some other things in there, but those are the first to come to mind!

Dislikes: Oh man, let's just say you'd be better off having me list what I like.

Derby Heroes: Onda' Sligh, Varla Vendetta, and Deanne T. Krist.

Name Inspiration: I was going to be "D. all of the above" but DIESEL was shorter, and more suitable for the sport. I recently wanted to skate under my maiden name "DiRusso" but I know I'll always be DIESEL. Diesel was given to me in the army when I was "PT stud" and carried into being my b-girl name (break dancing)

Food Before a Bout: Nothing specific

If you could have any super power, what would it be? I couldn't get injured, pffft DUH!
