How did you find derby?: I watched a crazy derby show on Saturday mornings as a kid. It involved an alligator pit, a jump ramp and a 10 foot high wall, all with awesome 80's costumes and WWF style drama. When I met a skater from Winston at a volleyball game in November 2011, I caught the derby bug, bought skates the next day and signed up for a bootcamp. I was immediately hooked.

Sports Background: I was a cheerleader, I roller skated a LOT on the weekends as a kid, and started ice skating in high school.

Best Fresh Meat Moment: My favorite moment is probably my first game with the Boots, in Richmond VA. My legs were shaking on the line in my first jam, and I got sent to the box for blocking out of play. I sat in the box and got my head in the game. The rest of the game was so fast and fun I wanted to go again right after the bout ended.

Likes: Skating, summer camp, my big fat cat Zoe, riding my motorcycle, butternut squash or mushroom risotto.

Dislikes: Olives, the glass ceiling.

Derby Heroes: DVS

Name Inspiration: After I passed my level ones, Ava Gore and Scaristotle put the pressure on me at a public skating session at Wheels (in Durham). We thought about some plays on the women of Star Trek (Captain Painway was taken :( ) Back to the Future is my all time favorite movie, so we started playing around with that, and when Bash to the Future came out, it just sounded right.

Food Before a Bout: Anything, sandwiches are great and I'm seriously in love with orange Gatorade.

If you could have any super power, what would it be? Flying as a first choice, but I'd settle for a super high jump. In my dreams i can often jump 10' in the air or more, it feels so cool.
